The Stories We Keep: Antique Treasures and Coastal Stillness

In this video, I share a quiet day of reorganising an old antique desk that has lived many lives in our home. From a workspace for my son’s homework and Lego display, to my writing space, filled with books, to a display for my husband’s DVDs, to a display for my cherished dishes and ornaments. This piece of furniture holds its own history, as I was gifted it by a relative who inherited it from their parents.

Cleaning and rearranging these items often brings a mix of nostalgia and peace, as I revisit our wedding gifts and some heirlooms inherited from my mother.

As I move towards minimalism and find a weight in having too many things, I lovingly place them on display after cleaning them and ponder what I will keep and what I will say goodbye to.

After finishing my work for the day, I take you along for a beautiful family afternoon at the beach. Watching our dog enjoy the water and feeling the coastal sun is the perfect way to find stillness and gratitude after a busy day.
